President's Message

Welcome to Sarnia and to the Sarnia Newcomers Club, a social club for women in the Sarnia-Lambton, Ontario area.  We are an active group of women of all ages who have moved to the Sarnia area, not only from within Canada, but from all across the globe.

For the past 45 years, Sarnia Newcomers Club has provided a range of recreational, social and special interest groups to help members settle into their new homes whilst forging new friendships. We are a non-profit club organized and run by our members.

We hold monthly General Meetings that include events such as attending local film festivals, bowling, visiting the local brewery or dining out together.  In addition to this, we have sub-groups who meet on a regular basis, both during the daytime as well as the evening.  These sub-groups cover a wide range of interests, including book clubs, knitting, crafting, walking, meeting for lunch or to go to the movies.

We encourage you to come along and join in an upcoming activity, we are certain you will enjoy it!

Sarnia Newcomers is a well-established organization that's been welcoming women new to the community for over 40 years! The club takes a break during July and August, but many of our activity groups continue throughout the summer.

Upon joining our club, new members will have access to a private members-only Facebook page, which provides information about club events and activities, as well as access to the Sarnia Newcomers newsletter and membership roster. As a member in good standing, you are eligible to attend all monthly meetings, attend and vote at all general meetings of members, and participate in special-interest groups and events sponsored by Sarnia Newcomers.

We are a member of the National Newcomers Association of Canada. Their website has a lot of valuable information about Newcomers, upcoming events, listings of clubs across Canada, contests and more. It’s a great way to find out what other clubs are doing, and also a chance to read the National Newcomers newsletter The Link.

“Your Bridge to Friendship”

Our club’s motto is “Your Bridge to Friendship.” If you know anyone new to town who is wanting to make friends, please send her our way! Our group is full of women who can attest to the friendliness of our members. You are welcome to attend two meetings or events as a registered guest to check things out, so don’t hesitate to contact our Membership Coordinator today!
